So, the first thing I want to note and that it is very important to know is that the Vestic are allergic. Their white coat and delicate skin instantly reacts to unpleasant irritants: reagents that are strewn with roads in the winter, chicken, some canned food, vegetables. And dry feeds are also far from all suitable! I encountered the above in person. Penny went on salt on the ground with an allergy to the legs in the form of redness of the coat and skin between the paw pads, from adult food, some canned pimples appeared on the tummy. It looks, of course, not very nice, but I managed to eliminate the allergen, rub it with Chlorhexidine, use Panthenol.

The second point is, at times, the excessive activity of Vestik. This is not only about puppyhood, but also about adult. I say this not only looking at my little one, but also communicating with other West Highland owners, whose pets are 4, 5, or even 9 years old! They are still very funny, funny, active. Those are still bandits!

The third nuance. I very often read that the Vestiks are very fond of traveling, driving with the owner in a car and everything connected with it. I thought that this was probably very individual and could not be inherent in any breed. However, now, I look at my Penny and marvel at how she jumps into the car, looks out the window while traveling. She likes it madly!

Care. Here, of course, everything is a little more complicated. It is worth recognizing that the absence of molting, on the one hand, eliminates excess dust and garbage at home. However, there is a need for a professional haircut, trimming. Yes, of course, someone will tell you that you can just cut it under the typewriter, but it harms the coat! That's right, pluck it. A professional should do this, so as not to create stress for the dog, not to hurt. Haircuts soften the hair, and it must be stiff according to the breed standard. Only in this way are its self-cleaning properties, water-repellent, protective.

Otherwise, this dog is just the perfect city favorite. She is very faithful, loving, playful. If you remember all of the above points, then you will not have any problems with the content of the West Highland White Terrier.
