The breed originates in China. It was there that found the first evidence of its existence, which dates from the 7th century BC. In this country, dogs of this breed are highly revered, respected and appreciated. They were close to the imperial court and Chinese nobility.

Then the history of the Pug breed continued in France, and later in the Netherlands. In 1689, this dog came to England, thanks to the Prince of Orange and his wife. For more than 200 years, the breed was extremely popular, but then their numbers began to decline rapidly.

1864 became a landmark for the species, because at that moment, when Queen Victoria wanted to get herself one of her representatives, this became a huge problem. As a result, 20 years later, under her leadership, a Pug worshipers club was created, which became actively involved in their breeding and improvement.

 What does the Pug breed look like?

The appearance of this breed is compact, athletic, stocky and angular. In general, its shape can be called square. The chest of these four-legged ones is voluminous, the limbs are straight, parallel, and the tail is curled, short, lying on the back.
Parameters of the Pug breed dog are as follows:

• Height: 27-31 cm.
• Weight: 6-8 kg.

Head - is the hallmark of these dogs. It is wide, flat and flat. The proportions of the skull and the muzzle are about the same, so you can say that the nose is almost in the center.
