The first mention of the four-legged dates back to the 16th century. It was at that time that the history of the Setter breed began, but not in its modern guise. An ancestor with similar traits is supposedly related to a quail dog.

The four-legged got its current appearance at the beginning of the 19th century. Through the painstaking work of different breeders, the setter received three varieties: English, Irish, Scottish. This is due to different breeding conditions, preferences in the pet's exterior, and performance.

Despite the fact that the English, Irish, and Scottish setters are separate breeds, nevertheless, in their appearance and temperament, they are similar.

Despite its high growth, the caudate has massive muscles. It is quite dry and hot. His body is nevertheless folded very harmoniously, has grace, ease of movement, elegant gait.

The dog holds its head high and proudly. It is elongated, rectangular. On it are large, hanging, soft ears, richly covered with soft wool. The eyes are oval, usually dark. The nose is large and with wide, well-developed nostrils. Its color depends on the color of the four-legged.

The chest is wide and deep. The limbs are parallel, straight, very strong. The tail is located at the level of the back and should not exceed it even during a fun, active walk. It has the shape of a feather, a saber. Long, covered with wool. At the base of the tail, it is short, becomes longer in the middle and again shorter to the tip.

The English Setter is characterized by mottled color (red, brown, yellow, black). Irish has a rich red, shade of wool. The Scottish has a bright black and tan fur coat.

After the individual of interest is noticed by the dog, it sits down (thereby giving a signal to the hunter), waits for a command from the owner and starts the attack. With its attack, it only makes the bird soar up, and already the hunter shoots it.
