You see me and probably think "Oh, what a cute cuddly bear!" – but I have to stop you right away I may be a Golden Doodle, but please don't expect a couch potato who'll just go along with everything. I have a mind of my own, I know exactly what I want – and, more importantly, what I don't.
I ended up in my foster home because my old home wasn't (or no longer) right for me. Here, I've learned that people can treat me as an equal. And yes – that's exactly what I'm looking for in my new home people with dog experience who give me clear, fair rules and whom I can trust. If no boundaries are set for me, I'll just test how far I can go myself. And believe me – I'm pretty clever.
What else can I do? I walk beautifully on a leash, and during walks I always look back at my person – to make sure everything is alright, that I can find my way around. Once I've gained trust, I'm truly loyal. But I need time at the beginning – I'm looking for people who have a bit more patience.
With other animals? I know chickens – no problem. Cats? I usually ignore them. But living with other four-legged friends needs to be well-managed, especially at the beginning, which is why my friends at the animal shelter don't necessarily recommend it. Regarding other dogs I'm very attached to my primary caregiver and don't need a second dog by my side.
Something else you should know I wear a muzzle in certain situations. I'm familiar with that, it doesn't bother me, and I think it should stay that way, especially at the beginning of my settling-in period – simply so everyone feels safe. I know I look cuddly – but I'm not a dog for children or for people who just think I'm cute. I'm looking for a home with clear structures, patience, consistency – and above all, with heart and common sense. If you have that, I can become your loyal companion. Yours truly, Pippa
